Re: New Mexico PR's.
I cut my teeth in AK packrafting (figuratively). Wished I would have done some more up there, PR paradise, but super cold water. And let's face it, never was too warm out in the summer when you step out of the boat. Brrrr. I look forward to not always having to wear my drysuit and numb hands. Anyway...

Re: Product Review 2011 Alpacka Llama
+1 on the deck. I have the beefy deck and it is not much of a improvement over the old one. It doesn't come close to matching the bomber construction of Alpackas. I had to dump way too often on the Lil Su today. It would be nice to see Alpacka put more emphasis on a more watertight deck. I don't min...

Looking for some Irish packrafters
Going to be in Meath county for 10 days I believe. I get arrive 9/19 in Dublin and then me and some relatives are renting a house in Meath. My visit is to see family I have never met in Ireland but I wouldn't mind getting out for some paddling if possible.

Alpacka spray deck: The weak link for WW.
Love the new boat design but the spraydeck doesn't come close to matching the toughness of the boat. I realize the intended purpose of Alpacka's but it would be nice to have like John says a more bomber option for white water. I hear they are working on a new WW boat, but I like mine, and who wants ...

Re: Little Susitna
Ran Lil Su today. Gauge was 540 cfs at 1230. I went from the Motherlode to Gov campground. Wanted to run from Gov to the bridge but thought I would have been pushing my luck so I stuck to the upper section. Never felt too overwhelmed tho I did go for a brief swim. The new rafts allow to run at highe...

Re: Lakina River
Ran the Lakina this weekend. I was wondering whose fresh boot prints I saw. The route was pretty straight forward. I only had some minor route finding which is to be expected. The Lakina was rowdy and you really need to be on top of your game given the remoteness. Don't think I would do this again a...

Sounds like a fun trip. Too bad that landowners spoil the fun. If only they could be like the Red Gate owner and others. Pretty small part. I plan on checking it out anyways.

Go by the Ship Creek flow. In my experience if it is less than 5ft then it can get pretty boney. I have ran it a little under 5 but much more fun when it is running higher.

Re: Cheap Sheep
We had a great time. Timed the weather and water level perfectly. The $$$ was well worth it. Getting down to the river was cake. Never felt overwhelmed by the rapids which is good because Sheep is out there and an accident would be bad news. Thanks John for the vid. Looking forward to getting out mo...
2009 Yak
600$ Red. Used in both flat and WW. Still in great shape. The bottom has scrapes from normal use. No patches or holes in the boat itself. Now the spraydeck was torn and I have patched it up. The deck still has life left in it but you will probably have it replaced at some point. I would prefer a dea...

PR partners
Always looking to get out. Have a few friends already but looking for more. I am free during the week or on weekends. Feel comfortable up to Class 3+ but still working on that this season. Hopefully some Class 4 depending how much I get out. Looking to do some WW along with some mellow overnight flo...

Brooks Range PR this summer.
Just looking to see if anyone may be interested in doing a Brooks trip this coming August. Would like to go for a couple weeks. I have a couple of ideas but I am open to suggestions. Never to early to start planning.

Sheep Creek
Gauging interest to see if some folks are interested in running Sheep Creek with Akjohn and I next weekend(8/14 or 15). Pretty reasonable price to fly in if it involves 3 or 4 people. Get a hold of me if interested.

Re: Resurrection Creek
Ran Resurrection today. I hiked about 5 miles up the trail thereabouts and floated down to Hope. Some fun drops and wavetrains but nothing too scary. Some sweepers which can be avoided. Near the finish I had to portage a couple of trees which completely block the creek. With six mile running high th...

Re: South Fork of Eagle River
I ran the middle segment today and had a blast. It gets quite rowdy below the red driveway bridge. I wanted to do it again but I felt like I may be pushing my luck. A couple of those drops are no joke. If anyone wants to get out and do it this week after work let me know. Any night but tuesday works...

Re: Glacier Creek; Chugach Mtns.
Ran Glacier today. I put in a little downstream from the tram. Didn't feel like being challenged right off the bat, though my start was swift enuff. Water level was good and I rode some nice wavetrains. I did scrape bottom a couple of times but figure I could have avoided that had I chosen a better ...
