Re: Cheap Sheep

I just wrapped up a Cheap Sheep loop as a casual two day trip (6/22 - 6/23/19) instead of a one day smash and grab like Brad and Luc. Doing Sheep Creek as an overnight was very pleasant and highly recommended. We parked at the end of Shaman Drive and not knowing what the 4-wheel drive section of the...

Re: New stuff for 2011 from Alpacka!

I see that the site is updated with the new specs. Looks sweet, definitely getting one this spring! What were the old specs (or what are the differences besides the stern)?

Yup. It even has enough water for a kayak. Kayakers put in around Downwind Lake and run that steeper section down from there (III+/IV- continuous boulder garden). For a kayak you want to be in there in the spring or after a big rain for there to be enough water. I haven't run it, but I'm pretty sure...

Re: Eskimo Roll in a packraft -- For Real!

It looks like it paddles much differently than a traditional packraft. I really like the way it appears to paddle. It looks like the narrower tubes not only make it easier to roll, but it also makes it easier to get a vertical paddle stroke in. There has been a stereotypical packrafter paddling posi...

Re: Eskimo Roll in a packraft -- For Real!

WOW!! The new boat look pretty cool! I'm glad I've been biding my time; I had a feeling that something would come about from last year's packraft exploits. When will some be available for Alaska testing? I would love to go rally one; you might even be able to convince me to try it out on a road side...
