Re: packrafting in Bozeman Montana

I’m in Bozeman looking for a paddle buddy. Hit me up if anyone wants to meet up.
I’m an intermediate packrafter but want to get better and some stuff you just shouldn’t do solo.

Re: S. Fork / White River loop Trip report

We could have done Danaher without total deflated but out of frustration we did. Over reacted I’m sure Yes, we floated to the White Confluence and hiked up river right. I thought about finding it at white river park but didn’t want to re inflate once we found it to get to the west side trail. I don’...

Re: S. Fork / White River loop Trip report

Hellcat, don't get me wrong. Being back in the Bob on the river is my happy place. The south fork was amazing as always!! We kinda rushed through the floating on it, unfortunately, I just tried to cram this trip into 5 days instead of 6 like originally planned. Wasn't expecting that much hiking whic...

S. Fork / White River loop Trip report

Well, we made it out alive. Thats how we feel anyway, it wasn't all bad but not as good as we wanted this year. S. Fork FLows at 2200 ish when we put on. West fork S. Fork Sun was under 400 cfs, probably 380. Hiked over Stadler Pass To Danaher July 30th. Water was low but floatable. Put in about a 1...

Re: SF Flathead level concerns

Lodgepole is an easy hike but is scorched earth since the fire no shade for nearly the entirety.

Re: SF Flathead level concerns

I’m heading in this weekend, 29-4th. I’ll post up a river report. Where are you planning on putting in? If it continues this pace you could see some really bony sections above big prairie by the 8th. Nothing you can’t walk your boat over a few dozen times. But still worth the float. Or come in over ...

S. Fork Flathead Trip July 1-5th

Heading into the S. Fork Flathead the week of the 4th. Was originally planning on taking it from the headwaters to Meadow creek like last year but thinking of maybe not doing a shuttle and doing a loop Trip. The plan: Benchmark Trailhead up over Stadler pass to Danaher. Danaher/S. Fork to White Rive...

Re: Youngs Creek (gorge) and Flathead SF (now)

Every crossing of Young’s was knee deep or more at least at some point.

Re: Youngs Creek (gorge) and Flathead SF (now)

We put in about 1/2 mike above confluence on Young’s where the trail meets back up with the river.
Yes I think you could have put in above the gorge at Hahn for sure and probably Cabin creek. It was a little boney but there was an obvious channel that was deeper (respectively)as far as I could see.

Re: Youngs Creek (gorge) and Flathead SF (now)

We just got out. I’ll post some more details in a bit. Young’s pass was not an issue. The blow down was huge trees and roots just past the old trapped cabin on the north side. Easyish high side route that took about 20 minutes to navigate and about 150yrds and that was it. Otherwise smooth sailing I...

Re: Youngs Creek (gorge) and Flathead SF (now)

We are heading in in 2 days ,July 3rd-8th Over Youngs but we are not planning on running Youngs creek much if any ( wife is new to packrafting ). Current Flows are around 4600 and I anticipate 4000-4500 for most of our trip at Twin Creek gauge. I'd love to run Youngs from Hahn but I don't think she ...
