SOLD 2007 Alpacka Llama with mods, $400
This boat used to be rad. Well loved and used Alpacka Llama (large) from 2007. The boat has many modifications for running whitewater, but the old-school geometry is more appropriate for lightweight scenic trips or hunting/fishing. Tie-downs installed for thigh-straps. Mouth valve has an extension s...

The Kama Sutra of Packrafting
Inspired by the cold and cramped trip down the Yanert River with 6'4" John Sykes sharing my boat last month... Here is a tongue-in-cheek (literally?) guide to doubling up in packrafts. Thanks to Roman for the photos! http://thingstolucat.com/ks-packrafting/ Let me know if you have more positions/pho...

Re: How to Eskimo Roll a Packraft
The tie-down loop in question was defective- the two layers of the patch were only glued together for half of the patch. I put stabond between the unglued surfaces as well as on the boat/patch bottom. The patch (strong-side hip) ripped along that glue/no glue seam, and took a little bit (4x4 mm) of ...

Re: Take a ride on the snow
Rubbing surf wax on your paddle helps with grip in the cold/snow. I am really happy with my NRS Toaster Mitts too. Looks like fun!

Re: Lost paddle on Resurrection Ck
Shoot- sorry Doug, didn't see your response until now.
I think 11 ft at six mile is probably ideal for Res. Ck class II/III. I'd check Brad's notes on the forum.
We didn't run the canyon, will need a bigger group for safety on that one.

Trip planning with AOOS Real-Time Sensors Map
I've been working on a real-time sensors map as part of a project for the Alaska Ocean Observing System. It is pretty sweet to check stream gages, webcams, and weather, at one site. (The snow observations will be useful to skiers too.) There is a feedback tab on the map- if you know of some weather/...
