Re: Busted NRS patch

Hi Kirkinbend! Unfortunately, I am living in Finland, and do not have access to the glues you mentionned. :( But I have seen that in the Packrafting-store.de: http://www.packrafting-store.de/Extras/PU-glue-and-accelerator-HELAPLAST-Haerter-RFE::169.html Just wondering how much better it is compared ...

Re: Busted NRS patch

I have been using Alpackraft tie downs, with poor glue (Bison Liquid rubber http://www.bison.net/en/products/645-household-and-hobby-glues/product/2823-liquid-rubber/ which can be assimilated somewhat to aquaseal). One patch (Right hip) pealed off after a few roll sessions. The other one is well on ...

Re: Busted NRS patch

Have you thought about using a heatgun (lower temperature available) to remove the patch? The idea would be to have enough heat to melt the glue, but too little to make any structural dammage to the fabric... (might need to protect the raft fabric around the patch with thick towels or plywood) I am ...

Taiwan

Found from Taiwan Whitewater kayaking in Facebook some little information regarding packrafting opportunity in Taiwan. I just paste it here as a reminder for myself - if ever the other link disappears - but you might also be interested. :) Beishi River (北势溪) - Grade 1-3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Re: Beefy spray deck

Thanks for the comment bradmeiklejohn. I actually followed Sven's suggestion and put a snap fasterner on the skirt. I have tried it last weekend and was quite happy with it. It as indeed and as you said "quite a long way from ideal", but it is already a huge improvement. The next step for me will be...

Re: Beefy spray deck

Hei Sven, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I actually saw your post. and also another interesting one. I put the reference here, if ever somebody is interested in the future.... :) Esben's post Richard295's post I think you convinced me about the snap fasteners method. I'll try that first. If it is not e...

Re: Beefy spray deck

Hello John, thanks for your reply. If ever your could take additional pictures, that would be nice! A custom deck, yes, I thought about this... Being located in Europe, I actually though I should fix this by myself rather than ordering it from overseas. I was thinking about doing something like this...

Beefy spray deck

Hi to all! Has anyone got a beefy spray deck mounted on his Alpackaraft? I am thinking about getting myself one, but I would really like to have a closer look at it. I have hard time to clearly see how it is built. Moreover, is there some kind of "stiff" plastic strip along the velcro? pictures welc...

Re: Packrafters in Europe

Well, at the moment, I am still in discovering mode. Nothing really super exciting for an advanced packrafter probably, but at my neophyte level, I find everything fun. :) I am currently exploring my region (Satakunta, south west Finland) and the possibilities offered by a packraft. Finland has a lo...

Re: Packrafters in Europe

I started a new job and won't likely take any vacations for a long time (unfortunately). But if ever you wish to come to Finland at some point, let me know! I can always take a few days off for an extended weekend. I have recently acquired a boat myself. I'm fairly new to packrafting and would be gl...
