Nice one Duncan and Co. Cool vid!
The first grade 3 with the boulders can be tricky river left. I ran it at .23 and .34 down the left side (not the tight chute) and found it a little marginal and probably should have portaged as you guys did. It really is a fun little trip.

Hi Sharon,
I was out there in late December and a guy turned up ready to paddle when they pulled the pin on him. Interesting.
They must have had some close ties at the Centre to be paddling a packraft. I wonder if things may change if/when the Diva (new boat) comes out.

Hey all, I've been out of the loop for a while now so apologies if this has been done already (couldn't find anything with the search). Yep, calculated risk. Few really ever get to understand it but I find climbers just get stuff. Last big rain event, I headed up to see what the gorge looked like at 10metres but never made it beyond Upper colo and paddled from there down instead. Next big event I'll head up to one of the passes and ...

Hi Dave, I wasn't having a go mate, just stoked to see others going for it. Yep the gauge takes a little longer to register so if you didn't see rock on the last one then definitely well over 2 metres! Probably the highest it's been packrafted so far.
Long day hey! Again well done!

A bit late to the party....I put in at Welcome reef 10am and made Sewells by 2.30pm the following day.
I had a reasonable load (10 days worth of shit) and portaged the big ones. I paddled everything I could to make distance and the level hovered around a meter on the Hillview gauge.

Hi Bree, Your biggest danger will be getting hooked on Packrafting! I've done a couple of sections, but they would probably be best left until you have paddled the tamer bits first. Problem is, I haven't paddled the easier bits so hopefully some of the other crew around here will catch your message ...
