SOLD: 2011 Alpacka Yukon Yak - NEEDS REPAIR

Looking to sell my 2011 Cedar Green Alpacka Yukon Yak. I've used this boat sparingly over the past 5 years and it's in pretty good condition and had no leaks (see update below). Always washed & dried after each use and prior to storing uninflated and unpacked. The seat valve has been repaired with a...

Re: Anyone in Southern Michigan?

Ammo Farmer: What level is the bear river course? I couldn't seem to find a whitewater rating anywhere on the page you posted. Do you know of any other runs in Souther Michigan? I will be home for a week/couple weeks in July and would bring my raft if there is anything worth running. John I believe...

Re: Anyone in Southern Michigan?

Ran the Bear River WW course last weekend and had a great time. The water was a bit low making the run a little bony. It seems like 1.5 feet on sheridan st. gauge would be ideal. We had 2 cars but that's not necessary as there is a nice path to walk along the river back to the put-in. Definitely the...

Re: Anyone in Southern Michigan?

Hey Josh & Anna, I'm in the Grand Rapids area and have recently acquired a packraft as well. Currently planning a trip up to Petoskey (Bear river) over memorial day weekend. It's just a mile stretch of man-made whitewater but from what I've read it should be easy to hike back to the put-in and run i...

Re: Seat Valve & Floor Abrasion

One would think so...although the seat instructions I received specified the valve down position.

Re: Seat Valve & Floor Abrasion

Alright, I've gotten a few shorter (6 miles) paddles in since flipping the seat. Initially, I unlaced the seat and just set it in the boat to see if the elbow valve would cause a comfort issue. I didn't want to waste the time/effort re-lacing the seat if I wasn't going to keep it upside down. Used t...

Re: Seat Valve & Floor Abrasion

I've only used my yak a couple times and it's already showing some wear in the same spot mentioned above.

Might be kind of uncomfortable but I was thinking about flipping my seat so the elbow valve is facing upwards. Other than comfort can anyone think of potential downsides to doing this?

Re: Hammocks, tarps and tents

I've been using a hammock exclusively for camping during the past 2 years and have been out from 15 deg. F to 85. There have been a few chilly nights as I was dialing in my system but all in all the comfort cannot be compared to sleeping on the ground. After just ordering my first packraft, (should ...
