For sale: 2009 Yak + retrofit deck

This is a 2009 Yak. It is dark green with black tape and a black retrofit cruiser spray deck. This boat has been on a total of three trips and is pretty much new. I bought the deck in fall 2011 and it has never been used, never gotten wet. Comes with an inflation bag and, if you want it, the longest...

For sale: 2002 Alpacka

This is a 2002 Alpacka. Teal with yellow tape, no deck. I didn't use this when I lived Outside or once I got a new boat, so really it has only four summers of use in it. Two pin hole leaks on the bow, patched with glue and invisible to the naked eye. I'm off to Canada on a long bike trip and am look...

Re: Happy River (Alaska Range)

Always wanted to walk to Nome in August and beat the dogs by a couple months.

There are a chainsaw and a cordless drill tied to my bike right now, but sooner or later it should be ready to rally again.

Re: trip report: Donnelly - McKinley Village

the yanert is not a braided nightmare mess. the rocky section is quick and dirty, over before you know it. it was probably made most difficult because it was unexpected. we pulled out after it and dumped water from the boats. I'm not the best at rating water, but i know it was no III and not class I.

homer to seldovia trip report

this is a follow up to my question about the Fox River flats. We took four days to bike and raft from Homer to Seldovia. The Fox delta area is indeed muddy, but there's a hard-packed atv road where the bluffs meet the beach. The Russians use this to check on the horses and cows. Portaging the Fox an...

Re: Fox River flats?

Thanks very much Roman. That's what I kindof thought it would be like. I figured that someone who had come down from Hope might know something.... Last time I was on the beach, that side of East End Road but this side of the Fox, I almost got run over by a Cadillac SUV.

thanks

Fox River flats?

I'm going on a raft and bike trip leaving from Homer next week that will involve crossing the Fox River delta, going from west to east. (this is the river that enters Kachemak Bay at its farthest inland, northeast spot. Page 62 in your Gazetteer.) I searched the forum but didn't find much. How wet i...

Re: Lost Coast Bike / raft

Great trip, man! That's the Hubbard Glacier in that first shot, right? (It looks familiar... I was there for awhile myself.) I'm just curious... how many days were you guys out? - Mike yep, that's the Hubbard alright. the Gap is just beyond looker's right in that photo, past the small bla...

free used reinforced Sevylor trailboat TAKEN

The boat's been accounted for. My apologies for the lateness of this update -- went out of town for 3 weeks and wasn't at any computers.

free used reinforced Sevylor trailboat

Free. One used Sevylor Trailboat. this is not an Alpacka! No leaks. I glued thick vinyl over the entire floor and over most of the tube. I've already snipped the d-rings off for you. This would be great if you are planning a wilderness-themed BBQ and need something to fill with ice for beer. Or if y...

trip report: Donnelly - McKinley Village

From June 27 – July 4, Kellie Okonek and I walked from Donnelly to McKinley Village, in the Alaska Range. We more or less followed what I understand was a commonly-taken route when this was a AMWC race, but with a few variations early on. It seemed like every ten minutes one of us would look up and ...
