Re: Carmen Lake to twenty mile

A little late, but there is nothing to worry about between Carmen Lake and Twenty Mile. I'd rate it at class 1-2. Only real danger when I floated it was ocational sweepers and a few strong eddy lines. It was no more difficult than the twenty mile down to the highway.

Ohio Creek - Alaska Range

Anyone ever floated down Ohio Creek from the Alaska Range. It connects with the main fork of the Chulitna River a few miles below Hurricane. I have floated the Chulitna and where it joins up it looks like a good size river with decent flow. There does appear to be a sort of canyon starting a few mil...

Don't worry, I enjoyed your report. The other poster may have been a little zelous in his demands, I don't see that dude posting sweet trips like you did.

Floating North From Grandview to Placer

Has anyone floated from Grandview on the stream flowing out of Bartlett Glacier and down to the Placer River. I know we just had a post about the Trail river, and I will also be in the area goat hunting this fall and am looking for some options out of them hills, other than taking the train.

Re: Granit Creek down to 6 mile pullout

I floated this last night. The water is up and the waves were about a foot higher than two weeks ago. Still fun, but it may be a little more than some first timers bargain for. We had a great time. The two significante sweepers are now not as big of an issue due to the higher water. Some one cleared...

Ship Creek

Has anyone floated Ship Creek from the Dam down through the base and out to downtown? Wondering if anyone had done that or if there are some access issues. I know that they allow people to float Eagle River and get out on base....? I'm looking for some fun class II/III runs near town as I am new to ...

Upper Russian River

Several weeks ago, I ran the stretch from Upper Russian Lake to Lower Russain Lake. It was one of my first packraft trips, and I did it solo as my hiking parters didn't have rafts. We hiked in from the Kenai River side and I put in near the Upper Lake. I was nervious about sweepers and wood, but it ...
