Re: Trembley Creek to Marion Creek, A haul road loop

How were the bugs this time of year? Earliest I have been up there is late July and there were clouds of them. Enough to drive you crazy!

Re: Lost Paddle Glacer/Twenty Mile River

After I posted that I saw that we got fresh snow up in the mountains here in Eagle River today. Good change you will come across snow on that hike especially on the shady slopes.

Re: Lost Paddle Glacer/Twenty Mile River

Not sure on the trail. We did that last year lots lots lots of bear scat on trail but didn't see any bears. You might find some snow up near berry pass. Couple of scketchy slope crossings. Be sure to bring ice ax or something to arrest with.

Lost Paddle Glacer/Twenty Mile River

On Weds we lost a paddle on Glacier above the confluence with twenty mile. If you find one I would happy to pay a finders fee.

Thanks,

Re: Twenty Mile 7/14

Started off at about 645am from the alyeska parking lot Saturday morning. Light rain made it feel über muggy. Got passed by some trail runners early on. One of hem cleared the path of bears for us all the way to the waterfall crossing. Sun came out as well as the bugs. Several sketchy snow field cro...

Winner Creek to twenty mile

Planning on doing the Girdwood to twenty mile trip next month. Read about others trips in years past, any advice for a first timer? We are going to make it an overnighter since this is our first time.

Thanks,

Steve

Re: Getting ready to buy packraft, any suggestions?

Thanks for the info. My explorer arrived yesterday!! I do like the zip off spray skirt, havent had a chance to blow it up yet or sew in the seat. Disapointed as the seat is yellow and not black like in the pictures. Oh well. Ordered a four piece fiberglass paddle from REI, figured I would try that f...
