Re: Packrafting.de

They replied to all my inquiries fairly quickly. They can't ship directly to North America. I just bought their new Nano SL and used a freight forwarder in Germany. I should get it in a few days and will post the results of that. Reasonable way to get their products.

Re: 2017 Alpacka Yak with Sawyer Cedar Surge paddle

Hello,

For some reason I can't send a PM right now. If you have not sold the boat I am interested. douggusmc@msn.com is my primary email.

Re: Alpacka Fjord Explorer Rowing Rig - Best Offer

Hello,

I tried to PM you but it won't go through for some reason. I am interested. Can you email me at douggusmc at msn dot com? I would like to know if this is the newer style and if you have the paddle too.

Thanks! Doug

Re: 2017 Alpackas

I was wondering the same thing. Not only the sale, but the fact that they are now selling boats made out of remnant fabric at a discount. Fabric change coming?

HMG 4400 Southwest Pack - Hyperlite Mountain Gear

Hello, Selling my barely used Hyperlite Mountain Gear Southwest 4400. Used maybe 1/2 dozen times on day trips. The bottom has dirt stains as does a tiny bit on a side. The white cuben fiber picks up dirt. Great packraft pack. I got the southwest for bushwacking originally (but have not used it for t...

Re: Fishing--Low cost light weight fishing tools

A fly rod ;) Seriously. A fly rod is not that excessive. Go Tenkara and jam it in your paddle if you want minimalist. I haven't seen the need, though maybe I should learn Tenkara. A full setup is only a lb or so.

Re: Curiyak Size

Great information!

I'll let this marinade for a bit. I'm 5'11" and the Ghost has definitely entered my mind. Just not sure how keen I am to have my feet dangling while trying to fly fish! The bulk and weight savings are massive though. Thanks again.

Re: Curiyak Size

Thank you! That is actually really helpful. I have the same Explorer. How do you like the Curiyak? Trying to get the smallest boat I can fit in for Alpine Lake use.

Curiyak Size

Does anyone who owns an Alpacka Curiyak have a photo of how small it packs up? Really curious how small it packs compared to a Llama or Explorer. I know Alpacka posts rolled dimensions, they are just hard to visualize and are fairly generic. (same rolled dimensions posted for multiple boats of diffe...

(SOLD) FS: Hornet-Lite Kokopelli Packraft 425$ Shipped

Hello, I am selling a brand new Kokopelli Hornet-Lite packraft. http://www.kokopellipackraft.com/adventure-series/ Received it yesterday. I have an Alpacka Explorer already and was trying to go smaller. This one turns out to be very close to the same size rolled. That being said, I would keep it if ...

Re: First time packraft for one/two people?

I too have the older Ford Explorer model. Works great for what you are describing. I use it on flatwater, in the sound, and on rivers. I have only gone on up to class II with it - but works well there too. I put the spray deck on. I had the same concerns as I thought I may want my toddler along on f...

Re: Cargo fly on Alpacka's- any good?

Kind of a late reply - but thought I would add my 2 cents. I used my Alpacka for an extended rafting trip. No hiking. The cargo fly worked well. No maintenance issues and was absolutely integral in keeping too much gear stacked on the boat. I had over 100lbs of gear with me. This is probably not the...

SOLD . Denali Llama Packraft with Cruiser spray deck and mo

SOLD. I am selling my extra Alpacka Denali Llama packraft with the Cruiser spray deck. I purchased this boat this summer new directly from Alpacka and used once, on a mild river. It is mint. Includes the following: 1 Manta Ray fiberglass 4 piece paddle, 1 Stormy Seas SV100 Deluxe version (this is th...

Re: Fjord Explorer in whitewater?

How different do the 2 boats feel? Not necessarily how the fit is - I realize the Explorer is going to be longer and take some adjustment for whitewater. But do the 2 boats handle significantly different? Going to be using the boat a lot in Alaska and just want to make sure the Explorer turns fast. ...

Re: Fjord Explorer in whitewater?

Thanks! Sounds like we have very similar uses... I just don't want to spend another grand on a boat right away and would rather get the Denali if the Explorer didn't handle class 3. I fish a lot of mountain lakes also, but in the NW. Main use for rivers would be for fishing access. Already looking a...

Fjord Explorer in whitewater?

Hello all. I posted this in the General section also, but it seems in my reading that there are more Fjord Explorer owners here, than anywhere else. I was hoping to get some comments by Fjord Explorer owners and their experience with whitewater. How will the Explorer compare to the Llama? I am going...

Fjord Explorer in whitewater?

Hello all. I was hoping to get some comments by Fjord Explorer owners and their experience with whitewater. How will the Explorer compare to the Llama? I am going to be using the boat for a variety of conditions and think the Explorer is my best option. That being said I will be running up to Class ...
