Re: Herbert River

Ran Herbert on Saturday 8/18/18. After recent high waters there is definitely new wood and at least one additional mandatory portage. River-wide logjams right after rapid under the bridge (2nd big bridge on the trail to Windfall Cabin) and another one shortly after that. ALSO a river-wide logjam (th...

Re: Large U shaped backrest from Alpacka

I could be wrong as I haven't paddled one, but that photo appears to be one of the Alpacalypse whitewater-specific boats.

Re: Kokopelli Packrafts

Looks like the Kokopelli rafts are using the inflatable NRS floor... Would this floor work in a 2013 Denali Llama? Has anyone out there tried this configuration? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Re: Lemon Creek!

Quick question for hippotour (or anyone else who might have the answer): Using the National Weather Service's hydrograph (http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=pajk&gage=lmca2) as a reference point, how would you classify the river at different gauge readings? I understand this creek has...

Re: Herbert River

I did this trip on Sunday, June 27, 2014. I'd say the river was at a solid medium flow, but this was the first time I'd pack rafted down it. The Mendenhall gauge was reporting between 7-7.5' on this day (for reference). Overall, this is a great day trip and well worth the 4-6 hours it takes. You get...

Re: Eagle River

I ran this last Sunday, July 6, 2014. I would have classified it as a solid medium flow but it was my first time running it (and hiking the trail for that matter), so that might not be right. The Mendenhall gauge for that day was at ~8'. I'm sure that's not a good reference point, but it's all I got...

Re: Mendy Laps

A friend and I also ran this last night (7/10/14) around 6:00 PM with the river gauge reporting around 10'. Really exciting waves with a few keeper holes to dodge. We put in just upriver from the Mendenhall Loop Rd bridge off the Dredge Lakes trail system and took out about 1/2 mile afterwards (basi...
