OZ import duty on packrafts?

Having just walked some of the Tassie West coast (Cape Sorrell-Bond Bay) I've decided I have to re-visit some of the rivers in a raft.

Question - has anyone been hit with import duty when importing a raft?

No, mine got through un-taxed. I believe it is only on goods over $1000Aus.

to avoid possible duty- if you are planning to order a number of items ( say a raft and deck and paddles etc) it's possible to split the shipment into a number of pacels- keeping each under the $1K limit- works just fine.- you can contact the good folks at AR to arrange that.
