Stillwater river in the Beartooth's Montana?

Post by funkwithoutjunk » Fri Jul 08, 2011 5:41 am

Has anyone ever floated the stillwater river in the Beartooths? I am devising a tough 3 day weekend which will include climbing up over Granite, floating the still water River, and biking 30-40 miles back to my truck. Its going to be extremely tough, but I am thinking it is possible, just wondering if anyone has tried floating the Stillwater before and how intense it was?

This is a solid Class 5 Run. The Magnus brothers (Yoga Slackers) nearly drowned when they did the trip you are proposing. The Bearthooths, like the Winds are steep, rugged, and forged from hard granite - serous business.
