Hi All,
I am wondering what people's experience with wind is?
Specifically how many mph would make you hesitate to take your packraft onto open water?
Have you been in wind that you could NOT paddle against? How bad (mph)
I say this because I have alway toyed with taking my Packraft into the Pacific for diving the kelp. But I'd hate to get blown off shore.

Hi Roger.
While I don't have specific answers to your questions, my personal solution is the delorme inreach tracker. That provides peace of mind in multiple scenarios, including the one you listed.
Good luck.

Re: Highest Wind
I would never say don't bring a GPS.
But I am more concerned about the wind being stronger than I could paddle against.
