Floated on 5/21/17. Whitewater section was attempted by myself and brother-in-law. We flipped within the 1st few waves. Water was running at 960 cfs and class V. We came close to drowning in the turbulent water. His paddle was snapped in half and one of the drops forced me down so hard on the river bottom that it broke my leg. I am advising anyone floating this river to portage this section at any flows above where you can get out and stand in the river. Probably 300 cfs or so. I did lose a Wind Paddle that was last seen wrapped around a boulder above Gibson Reservoir.
