Info on Nizina/Chitina/Copper

Post by adelorenzo » Wed Oct 09, 2013 10:44 am

Hey Alaskans,

A few of us canucks over here in the Yukon are looking at a possible trip for next summer. Right now the line on the map has us coming over from Canada and making our way into the Nizina, Chitina and then the Copper River all the way to Cordova. Looks like some pretty cool stuff in there, glaciers and whatnot.

Still in the early stages and doing initial research but if anybody has info or suggestions on rivers, routes, logistics, side trips or the best time of year to make the trip we'd love to hear them.

Regards,
Anthony

Looks like Andrew Skurka and Roman Dial did a similar route a few years back:

We're thinking the Copper is a little big, leaning towards coming in from the Yukon Territory to McCarthy area and back out.
